IF I WERE DICTATOR

If I were dictator, my first act would be to save humanity from all these electronic gadgets, that need to be charged. There would be one universal charger that would charge every make and brand of phone. Also one charger for all the various power tool batteries, and other electronic gadgets. Store sizes could be cut in half, with no need for all those display areas. You know if you throw that charger away, it would come back to haunt you, when the one you had before also by miracle fit this one.
Next would come the autos. Gas fillers would all be on the same side, as were the lights and windshield wipers.
I would outlaw preferred customer cards, or at least make one card that could be used universally.
And lets not forget the million and one remote controls that need as many pages of instructions to operate them.
And yes I would start wars, what with all the politicians out of work, it would give them something to do, and see what it is really like, rather then just talking about it.

You mean you would send them into battle?

Good.

My rule would be -- if a politician wanted start a war, s/he or their first born child would have to fight on the front line. Also, it would be required that their kids attend public school.

Amen to that! Can you imagine Cheney having to lead the troops into Baghdad, forced to do door-to-door searches in the middle of the night. I think that's the basis of several draft bills that have been introduced (without any real support.) They call for EVERY person to give 2 years of service, regardless of what your marital or education situation is. That way, the load of fightin' and dyin' is shared by the whole country. I'm sure the elite would still figure a way out of it.

Why don't we go way back to days of yore, when we had the kings and lords lead the troops into battle?
Now it is done from the comforts of Washington.
