MOMMY, MOMMY JOHNNY CALLED ME A @#$%&?

In years past mommy's loved to hear that. It meant it was time for a TWO-FER. Johnny would catch a smack on the side of the head for saying @#$%&? and Jimmy would get get his smack for snitching. Two smacks, case closed and life was back to normal.

Today news conferences, appearance of the matching bobble-head dolls of the Reverends Jackson and Sharpton as they make their way around the news room, not missing a beat.

Apologise galore and maybe time in rehab to follow. Round table discussions, as specialist from every field, try to out do each other to the severity of the situation. And let us not forget the ever breaking news event every time any of the parties hiccups.

If we just ignored it, the whole situation would just go away. No feelings hurt, the time could be spent on use full news, and the best news of all, a bit less time of listening to those two idiots trying to butcher the English language.

Yeah, but their coach spoke at a press conference and she was brilliant. She gave an excellent speech in which she threw no stones. She sweetly but firmly said something like, These young women are intelligent, hard-working athletes. We can not allow someone to call our daughters and our future leaders by such horrible names. I urge you to speak up. And that's when certain companies started to withdraw their advertising.

But I agree, this has been all over the airways for days... but the 3 times that Congress has tried to dismantle Title IX under the W regime is never mentioned.

Title IX is what gave those young women (and many others and probably even part of Imus' paycheck announcing that game) the opportunity to go to University on athletic scholarships -- declaring that equal dollars need to be spent on male and female scholarships.

What Imus did was crappy -- but it won't directly effect the outcome of someone's life. Dismantling Title IX would directly effect the education of many women -- but that's not news worthy.

The media needs to pull its head out of its sensationalist dupa.
