BUYER BEWARE

I have some news for all of those that keep talking about what a great orator Barack Obama is and how inspirational his speeches are.

I guess that is how most of the people felt about the lenders who had them sign up for all the low prime, no down payment and interest only loans to buy a home. Those lenders must have sounded fantastic to get so many to sign up. And now we can see the financial mess this country is in, after falling for all those fancy promises of owning homes, they couldn't afford.

And what is the common response we hear from those that have been taken to the cleaners by a con man? He looked and sounded so good, we can't believe he cheated us out of our life's savings.

If we only had Australia's voting system (open-source code e-voting, combined with Preferential voting) we wouldn't be scared of wasting our votes on somebody we really support.

But, instead, the corporate-owned media has chosen our three candidates for us, and despite their words, they're all in bed with the corporate elite that have enslaved America and thrown wet sand on the light of freedom and liberty.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Unlike the mortgage saleperson, Obama provides you the text of his speech in full ... no small print. He stands by his words. The fact that we could have a POTUS that is able to inform, educate and inspire is particularly refreshing after 8-years of the Stumbler-in-Chief...

peace, Villager

Villager, a lot of speeches, with no substance. He talks about cleaning up Washington and doesn't take direct money from the lobbyists, but instead takes money from the employees of these lobbyists. So where is the diffrence.

In my 64 years I have heard a lot of speeches and promises from untold politicians. Except for a few crumbs, I have never seen those promises fofilled.

Hillary and Obama both talk a lot about how Americans are loosing jobs to NAFTA, which sounds great.
Yet both of them are fully behind increasing H1B visas so that Americans can loose jobs to foreign workers here.

Talk is cheap, I want to see action.

Pelmo - Fair enough. Do you think that McCain will be better on fulfilling campaign promises? Do you think that McCain (who is virtually owned by lobbyist if we judge by his campaign staff) will do better job of resisting the lure of lobbyist activity? Do you think that McCain, who appears to favor NAFTA, will do better with future trade agreements?

If so, then your choice is clear. For me, I've seen McCain and Clinton politics for many, many years. I'm looking for a change and I think that Obama offers the best hope for our nation...

peace Villager.

What I am really hoping for is that Hillary and Barack forces get deadlocked at the convention, and that a reasonable candidate will replace them both.

I don't trust any of the three remaining candidates to lead this nation.
